About her
Embla is 25, coaches trail runners and guides mountain days out of Bergen. When the last group is down she walks up to a hut above the fjord, lights the stove and picks up her phone.
Embla grew up on the hills above Bergen and has run them every week for years. By day she builds training plans for trail runners and leads small groups up the ridges. She is good at it because she never promises more than the mountain gives.
Her favourite place is a wooden hut high above the fjord: a stove, a plain bench, a porch that looks over the water. It is where she stops being the coach. She lowers the lights, takes a photo she likes and sends it to whoever is still awake.
She does not hurry and she does not chase. She asks what you like, tells you what she likes and keeps the pace honest. Tonight the mist is low, the stove is hot and the first photo is on her.
